This privately owned destination venue restaurant with rooms on the edge of the New Forest is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Sous Chef to strengthen the team. Recently refurbished throughout there is a 35-cover restaurant, conservatory, garden and 7 letting rooms The menus are contemporary European and make the most of the best local and seasonal produce available and include a full roast on Sundays. Everything is made in house, so this kitchen is always busy.


As Sous Chef your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support the Head Chef to ensure that every aspect of the service runs smoothly
  • Run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Kitchen management duties, stock control, wastage, hygiene etc.
  • Compliance with all statutory legislation & regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance, food prep and cooking


The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in a similar busy fresh food environment, passionate about flavours and quality with a “can do” attitude. We are looking for a level-headed customer focused professional chef with the skill set to move about the kitchen as needed including running the pass, butchery, whole fish prep and pastry work; meticulous, punctual and well organized. This a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and passionate chef to make their mark within an ambitious establishment.

Salary: £30,000
