Sous Chef Family Run Italian Restaurant
Well-established family run Italian Restaurant with dining on 2 floors is looking for a reliable Sous chef to strengthen the team and play a key role in the day to day running of the kitchen. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine including a good selection of pasta dishes, made to order, proper pizzas, fish, meat, bruschetta and antipasti. Traditional Italian desserts including Panna Cotta, Tiramisu are all made on site. As Sous Chef you would be expected to run the stove during service cooking fish, pasta, meats and some hot starters to order, be responsible for the kitchen and oversee/support the other chefs on duty. Some experience of regional Italian cooking would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be given.
The kitchen is small and well organised and gets quite busy at peak times, the restaurant operates 2 sittings at weekends. The kitchen has a 5* hygiene rating and operates a robust hygiene schedule that must be maintained.
The ideal candidate will be a well organised and even-tempered professional chef with strong all round kitchen skills and some experience of Italian cooking and must be comfortable running the kitchen when left in charge.
