Junior Sous Chef, Courtyard Restaurant & Bar
This English Garden style 80 cover courtyard restaurant and bar has an immediate vacancy for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join the team
The menu is modern British casual fine dining with the focus on fresh seasonal produce and is a showcase for British ingredients. Current dishes include “Cornish Crab & Potted Shrimp Crumpet and British Burrata, Heirloom Tomato & Lovage”
The all-electric kitchen is well equipped and includes cooking over open fire. Everything is prepared in-house from scratch, so this kitchen is always busy. The Head chef has a Michelin star background and a very craft driven approach to food, standards throughout are high.
As Junior Sous you will be expected to organise your own prep, run your section during service, supervise other staff and work elsewhere in the kitchen as directed by the Head Chef. This will include some kitchen management duties.
Required: Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Passion and enthusiasm for food and quality,
- Relevant experience in a similar fresh food environment.
- Up to date with modern cooking techniques
- Creative flair & attention to detail
- Meticulous, organised and punctual
- Team player with a strong work ethic
The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in a similar fresh food environment cooking to 2AA rosette standard, caring and self-aware with a CV that demonstrates loyalty and commitment.
This is currently an all-girl kitchen but we welcome applications from all genders and backgrounds
Interviews will include a cooking trial
3 doubles and 2 straight shifts
Salary: £34,000 including service charge
