Head Pastry Chef/ Baker
This independent all-day café/restaurant situated in one of London’s parks is looking for a Head Pastry Chef/Baker to run the in-house bakery. The air-conditioned bakery produces sourdough, ciabatta, cakes, cookies, traybakes, muffins and some celebration cakes for both eat-in and the food to go counter as well as savoury tarts and quiches and a sourdough pizza menu too. It is professionally equipped with Chandley ovens, Ferneto Mixers & JAC Slicer etc.
Working mainly alone, with help at peak times, you will be responsible for all aspects the day to day running of the bakery including:
- Stock management & ordering
- Daily production targets
- New product development
- Staff training
- Food safety & hygiene
Required: Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Passion & enthusiasm for pastry, bread & raw ingredients
- Previous experience in a similar bakery or patisserie
- Excellent attention to detail
- Creative flair
- Financially aware
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable pastry chef/baker with good commercial bakery/patisserie experience and a “can do” attitude to work. Capable of working in a small hands-on team delivering a high standard product; in touch with responsible food provenance and industry trends.
5-day week, daytime only
Salary: £30,000 + depending on experience
Company Pension Scheme + meals and drinks on duty.
