Consultant Chef, New Food Delivery Start-up
This new food delivery business opening a cloud kitchen in East London is looking for a creative and results driven consultant chef to play a key role in setting up the business, particularly the grill side of the menu. The company has acquired a large and well-equipped commercial kitchen. Menus will be a blend of Asian cuisines, grilled chicken and meat, house burgers, vegan items, sides and house sauces etc all ordered online. Meals are prepared fresh and are tasty, wholesome and well balanced; delivered hot, boxed and are designed for family dining, healthy lunchtime food for office workers etc.
- Working with the Directors and chefs to develop the menu
- Menu to be innovative and exciting and always evolving
- Bringing ideas and dishes to life
- Creating recipe cards and kitchen procedures
- Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations & legislation
- Food costing
- Staff/chef training, quality assurance
- Helping the company achieve its goals
The ideal candidate will be a solid all-round chef with a proven track record in a similar high-volume fresh food environment with particular experience of meat marinades and grilling, cook to order, hot holding and bespoke sauces. Previous experience in a food delivery operation, creative NPD work, strong brand awareness and excellent people skills are essential.
This is a 4 to 6-week contract, approximately 25 – 40 hours per week with a view to a longer-term involvement as the brand expands with the opening of more units. The initial hours per week can be agreed depending on availability for the right candidate. An attractive long-term package for on-going Consultancy for the right person with a view to a more active involvement on expansion.
