This stylish independent 60-cover all day café/restaurant is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic chef to work closely with the owner and run the kitchen. The day trade is very Brunch based, all fresh, seasonal produce, made in-house, good coffee, tray bakes and pastries. Evenings are more restaurant driven, small plates and sharing dishes, house cocktails and a monthly themed specials menu. The kitchen is small but well organised and gets very busy at peak times; excellent cook to order experience and a tidy work ethic are essential.

Main responsibilities:

  • All food production, stock management & wastage
  • Quality assurance & staff training.
  • Compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation
  • Food safety & hygiene
  • The kitchen budget and GP


We are looking for an even-tempered, customer-focused chef with strong café/brunch experience, including plant-based dishes; someone capable of leading a small team in a happy and efficient kitchen. A chef who loves cooking, leads by example, is prepared to muck in where needed, and shares the owner’s passion for responsible food provenance, zero waste and making the most of the seasons.

This role might suit a keen Sous Chef ready to step up and run his/her own kitchen for the first time.

48-hour week over 5 days.

Open all week 9.30-6.00

Evening service, Thursday, Friday & Saturday only

Salary: Up to £40,000 relevant to experience
