PRIVATE CHEF Summer Season
I am looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Private Chef to cater for a family throughout the summer months (July & August) at their home in East Kent. Working a 5-day week Wednesday to Sunday duties will include shopping for, preparing and cooking a varied menu for a family of 4 and house guests, often including families with young children. The house can get very busy.
Meals will include breakfast, lunch and dinner, buffet lunches, Sunday roasts, dinner parties, family birthdays and BBQ’s etc and include both gluten and lactose free diets; the children will usually eat early. The family enjoy their food and are looking for a chef who can make the most of the excellent fresh local produce available.
You will be responsible for planning menus, shopping and cooking and will be expected to keep your kitchen clean and well organized at all times. You must have strong all-round kitchen skills, including baking, be flexible, even tempered and comfortable working in a domestic environment with children. There is no daily budget, but you will be expected to manage the kitchen accounts responsibly and will be accountable for all kitchen purchases, standards throughout are high. There is a well-equipped domestic kitchen.
We are looking for someone with a passion for food, highly creative but equally happy making comfort food, capable of producing balanced, well-presented meals and a varied weekly menu. The ideal candidate with have several years’ experience working in the private sector with some restaurant experience too, with appropriate professional qualifications and excellent references.
Experience cooking for children is essential.
Although you will be working in an informal family environment professional behaviour is required at all times.
Interview will include a cooking trial.
This position is subject to a full DBS check and applicants must hold a clean UK driving license
Live in accommodation is available
